Off lately our city has been seeing a lot of trending Punjabi Cuisine and yes it has been received very well by the foodies here. So if you are a lover of our amazing North Western counter parts then you should definitely try Punjabi Food Festival at Ocean Pearl.
The aura as soon as you enter does give you a Punjabi feeling and the effect is complete with the waiters dressed ethnically rest assuring good service.
As we sat down we were welcomed with a drink of Punjabi Lassi doused with cardamom. Without further delay we got down to food like true Punjabis. The Paya Shorba came first which was rich of flavor and taste. The veg counterpart didn’t taste so good.
In starters we had the Murg Methi Tikka which was quite unique as the Methi (fenugreek) really got this dish to life. The Bhatti De Kukkad aka Chicken Tandoori too was really yum it had a very Punjabi taste too and was perfectly cooked. Vegetarians can go for the Paneer tikka stuffed with Mushroom. Very mildly flavored and grilled to perfection. Not to mention the huge pieces.
For the main course we ordered the Ghosh Tadiwala which was a perfect amalgamation of all the spices and soft pieces of mutton. A must for mutton lovers. The Murgh Makkhanwala was a disappointment as it didn’t taste authentic and was flooded with cream.
Vegetarians are lucky this time as the Sarsoon Da Saag was truly a class apart and before we knew it the Handi was licked clean. This dish is a must try for all. The Amritsari Dal too is worth mention.
Special credit goes to the variety of breads they have to offer. Be it the Pudina Lacha Paratha, Mirchi Paratha, Bajre ki Roti or Makkai Ki Roti, none will leave you disappointed as they are made from the freshest of ingredients.
For deserts don’t try anything but the Jalebi with rabdi as it will guarantee you a much needed happy ending.
The fest will be on till 6th December and we strongly recommend you to try it.
