BIRYANI & KABAB FESTIVAL

Biryani and Kebabs are the very essence of Indian & Mughlai Cuisine, we mean who doesn’t love an aromatic biryani and a succulent Kebab to go with it?

Keeping this in mind, Ocean Pearl yet again decided to tease our senses with a Biryani & Kebab Festival till the 14th of this month at Coral.

You can’t miss the amazing Mughal and ethnic décor once you enter which will prompt you to start eating right away. So here are some snapshots of the fest:

 Kebabs:

The list of starters will enthrall you with some names you might have not even heard about. We tried 4 of them:

  1. Mutton Chapli Kebab: This one has more of an Afghan influence. Nice shallow fried mince cutlets with mild hints of spice.
  2. Fish Hyderabadi Tikka: The fish wasn’t satisfactory as it was pretty hard and moreover the flavor lacked a punch.
  3. Chicken Peshawari Tikka: The Peshawari was a real winner as the pieces were soft and the meat was cooked to beyond perfection.
  4. Murgh Sholay Tikka: The Sholay again failed to entice us as the chicken was in two different layers with the inner layer a bit bland and uncooked.
*the quantity in the photos were for photographic purposes only, the actual quantity is around double of what is seen

Biryanis:

We were really excited to try out the wide range of Biryanis here:

  1. Lucknowi Chicken Biryani: This biryani really won our hearts as the aroma in the rice and the perfect blend of masala with chicken really made this dish a treat. A must try at this fest.
  2. Malabar Chicken Biryani: This was perhaps one of the most disappointing Biryanis ever. The rice being very hard and the masala tasting nothing like the Malabar style, please avoid from this.
  3. Andhra Chicken Biryani: This Biryani is another well-made dish with the assortment of chilly pastes fitting in well with the rice and chicken.
  4. Hyderabadi Mutton Biryani: Though this biryani tasted nothing like the original, it was unique in its own way and special mention going out to the well-cooked mutton it was really soft and succulent.

You can give a really happy ending to this with the lovely Jalebi and Rabdi dessert.

Yes! its worth trying the Recommended Dishes by THE 3 HUNGRY MEN, but incase you wana try something else please do try it because taste differs person to person and you may end up liking what we dint like.

So feel free to comment below your feedback about the festival!

P.S: the rates are a bit premium as the ingredients used have to be sourced from far off and the quantity in the photos were for photographic purposes only, the actual quantity is around double of what is seen.
