To keep the festive mood on, a grand Mahabhoj prepared for Durga Puja by Maharaj Pradip Debnath and his two other cooks is flown staright from Calcutta to Banaglore to treat your taste buds. Additionally, this festival will also have Live Chaat counters, Kolkata Rolls and used old traditional décor ornaments.
Calcutta Connection 2.0 features both vegetarian and non-vegetarian menus displaying a wide choices of dishes. This extravagant food festival will have a variety of dishes to savour and treat your senses. From their traditional savouries to the famous fish dishes to the chatpata street food, this festival has a lot to offer and you can never have enough on your plate.
Satrt with ‘Hot Kaati Roll’ and head on to the famous Bengali street food ‘Jhal muri’, which is a rich combination of flavoured water, tamarind chutney, chaat masala and chickpeas. If you have never tasted Bengali poori, don’t forget to taste the ‘Luchi’.
For the vegetarians, there is ‘Aloo Posto’, potato cooked to perfection in poppy seed paste, ‘Beguni Bhaja’ a Bengali home-made style brinjal curry, ‘Musrir Dal’ ambundant in flavour, aroma and spices among others. Pair the masoor dal ‘Saada Bhaat’ to experience a simple but heavenly taste.
For non-vegetarians, there is prawns, the famous Bengali fishes and mutton curry among others. Taste one of the best Bengali traditional prawns curry called ‘Chingri malai curry’, cooked rich in coconut milk and spices. Fish lovers can taste the ‘Pabda Macher Shorshe’, a mustard-based fish curry, the ‘Bhetki Paturi’, the Barramundi fish, and the ‘Katla Macher Kalia’ which is served in most Bengali receptions. After catering to your fish cravings, you can try ‘Kosha Mangsho’ the Spicy Bengali mutton curry with ‘Basanti Pulao’ or ‘Saada Bhaat’.
Finally, come the desserts for the sweet toothed. Calcutta Connection 2.0 will serve desserts which will linger in your mouth long after you savour them.
