The first things that come to your mind when I say Mohammed Ali Road or Haji Ali in Mumbai is undoubtedly the amazing Paaya, Sheekh Kebabs, Mutton Biryani, Kheema Pav etc. With the intention of getting the same to Mangalore, Najib Bava, the owner of the famous Royal Darbar decided to start Mumbai Darbar. He just opened it on Monday and we took no time and paid him a visit. The place is small but has around 8 tables. Located in the lanes of Bunder just before Bombay Lucky on the left. An easier landmark would be before Narayan’s Fish Place. This place boasts of getting you the authentic Muslim food from Mumbai right here.
We tasted a couple of dishes which were really amazing. The must try dishes are the Special Fish Curry, it’s nothing like you’ve ever tasted, priced at 70 Rs. But tastes out of this world. Similarly they serve great Bheja fry, Paaya etc. they have fish too and their Anjal fry is priced at just 75 rs. They also have Mutton biryani with really soft Mutton pieces and chicken biryani too.
Najib said he will be adding more items to the menu like Kheema, Sheekh etc. soon. We really hope this place gives Mangalore a piece of Mumbai. Here’s wishing Mumbai Darbar all the very best.
