The competition was simple, all you had to do was write a line depicting your love for Ghee Roast. The contest was open on facebook and instagram. The face book winners were Satish and Vardhan. From instagram, 2 ladies had taken the prize viz. Fathima and Hana.
There was a massive spread at Simbly South, we shall be writing a separate review about the food there.
Heres what the winners had to say.
Hana Moosa : The food was great indeed filling my stomach up to an extent I couldn’t breathe . It won’t be memorable lunch just because of the food but it includes the experience I had with the three hungry men and other contestants. They took me to the world of aroma and taste with their conversation . Lot of laughs too happened on the table . Thanks to Nikhil and Colin to make me feel not like a queen. My mouth still begins to water as I think about the dishes, Paneer ghee roast, Chicken ammachi, Travancore chicken, tiramisu etc. everything was just so yum. I remember my mum saying ” Don’t talk while eating ” . Yet this is not true eating is the place where we talk and connect . Simbly south was simbly amazing .
Satish Nayak : It was wonderful & great to join T3HM for the MEET UP & EAT UP, It was wonderfully organized, knowing & interacting with them was great fun, Not to forget the AMAZING FOOD. Awesome Kheema Ghee roast, TIRAMISU ,Coconut Pudding to name a few. I disliked the Chicken Travancore as it was average, I alos wouldn’t recommend the Veg. Andhra chilly as its too spicy. Also a special mention to Kishan for his photography….T3HM team is doing a great job & KEEP IT UP GUYS, CHEERS!!!!!
Fathima Mitha : First off a HUGE thanks to the three hungry men for selecting me for their second meet up and eat up to review ‘Simbly South’. It was truly a memorable and mouthwatering experience ! Colin and Nikhil were amazing hosts and I enjoyed sharing this with other foodies like myself .The food was exceptionally good especially the kerala prawn pepper fry, it was to die for! The the veg butter garlic was fairly good too .one dish which I would never forget was the chicken kheema ghee roast which was out of this world ! The neer dosa complimented it really well. The Andhra chilli veg was spicy beyond edible. The chicken ammachi and mutton stew here needs a special mention as its super yum!
By the time the biryani arrived I was stuffed!!!
For desserts , coconut pudding was a dish fit for the gods while the ragi manni reminded me more of home made comfort food .
Something which we didn’t expect was the all time classic tiramisu which fared well with the others.
The ambience and service was exceptional and friendly.
I really look forward to future events by the 3 hungry men and hope to experience this again.
Vardhan Pai : I have known T3HM since the day they started and meeting them and dining with them was definitely a dream come true for me and my fellow contestants. Humble and hungry and just a few adjectives used to describe them as they are extremely down to earth and friendly.
They had arranged a huge spread for us which included various foods. The best dishes were Paneer saffron ghee roast, Prawn pepper, chicken kheema ghee roast, chicken ammachi and mutton stew along with appams and neer dosa. For desert, Tiramisu and coconut pudding took my heart away. Some items I wouldnt recommend is the Andhra chilly veg and veg butter garlic. On the whole I’m definitely coming back to Simbly South.
The amazing photography and videography was completely taken care of by Kishan from IKLIKK photography who is also one of out chief food photographers. Kishan said “ its really a charm working with people who love to eat and love to laugh, this is the best way one can describe the 3 hungry men. I really look forward to working with them in the future”
