Meet up and Eat up, just the word eat makes you’ll excited right? Us too! We decided that interactions over meals are always fun. This is a way where we meet our readers and have a great time. They also get to be part of our review process (if we are reviewing) and share their views.
The first meet up and eat was held at Machali ( you can read the Review HERE ) on 7th September 2014, they day it was opened. We had used a randomizer to pick 4 lucky winners who get to eat with us via randomizers. Out of more than 50 participants, the winners were Nita, Avish, Vaibhav and Kavya.
Here’s what they had to say about their experience.
Nita said “Just got back from the first meet up and eat up event organized by The 3 Hungry Men. I had an absolute blast. It was fun discussing food with a whole bunch of foodies n the fact the yummy plates of food kept coming made it even better. Listening to the history of T3HM from Nikhil just sweetened the deal! A Sunday to remember.”
Avish said “I had an amazing time with the other contestants and with ‘The 3 hungry men’. I feel this kind of reviewing helps different people get together and voice their opinions. And at the same time have fun and share a few laughs as well. I hope ‘The 3 Hungry Men’ keep conducting the meet up and eat up reviews. Wish to experience it again.”
Kavya said “First of all thanks to The 3 Hungry Men for choosing me to be a part of this contest to review the new place ‘Machali’. Honestly it was a fun experience with Colin and Nikhil sharing their stories and there was so much yummy food on the table! Especially Nikhil with the ancestral story of The 3 Hungry Men. Nonetheless the rest of us just couldn’t stop binging on the fish and chicken except for the fitness freaks Sonal and Pooja! Thanks to the photographer Sonal for being the super-fast clicker which let us hog and review on the yummy food that was waiting for us on the table asap! Let me start with the dishes I remember. Prawns Koliwada, Anjal Tawa Fry , Anjal Roast , Chicken Kabab , Chicken Ghee roast , Crab Masala Fry , Prawns Hinga Uda, Panna Upakari ,Fish Thali , Chicken Biryani! The list is too long! I must say the Prawns Koliwada and the Anjal Tawa Fry stole the show Yummy !! Thanks to The 3 Hungry Men team for letting us be a part of this amazing event !”
Vaibhav said “It ws a very new and exciting concept, loved it. Common foodies like us got a chance to review a newly opened hotel with the food gods “The 3 hungry men” The food was lovely, Especially the ghee roast..The most torturing part of the whole experience was when the ordered food was on table yet we couldn’t have it since it was being photographed and I was drooling from within. A total lovely experience. Hope to experience it once again. The 3 hungry men rock!”
We were so happy that everyone had a great time. After feedback from others, we are implementing the following changes in our next meet up and eat up. The change would be that there are no lucky winners. i.e everyone can come. A time, date and venue would be announced. Those who wish to come would have to confirm participation as we have to book tables. And yes, last time we footed the bill which some didn’t like and insisted on paying for their own meals, though we still paid, we respect others and from next time onward we will let everyone pay for themselves.
The next meet up and eat up is in October. Watch this space for updates.
